Vikings destroy the Texans, 34-7. Week 4, 3-0 Vikings travel to Lambeau Field to face the 2-1 Packers. #SKOL

Our 2024 Minnesota Vikings are ROLLING! The 49ers and Texans are both top 5 betting favorites to win the Super Bowl this season and the Vikings dismantled both teams with ease. After beating the 49ers 23-17 (could have been a blowout), the Vikings took the Texans to the woodshed, beating them 34-7. This start has been impressive, but not surprising to Birdman's Blog. I have predicted all 3 wins correctly, so far, and I don't plan on being wrong anytime soon. I do have a unique ability to see into the future; a lot of people don't have this ability. I will say this: If the Vikings don't lose any games this year, they will finish the season undefeated.

Let's look back at Birdman's Blog's prediction for the Texans game before providing some overall thoughts:

"Week 3 - Texans @ Vikings:

  • The 2-0 Texans will come into town to face the 2-0 Vikings. This will be another matchup of future playoff teams fighting to stay undefeated in this young season. The Texans will likely be without their top 2 RBs, but their passing game is electric. Nico Collins is leading the league in receiving yards this season, while they also have Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell. The Texans have one of the best defenses in the league, leading the NFL after 2 weeks in sack rate per pass play. The Vikings will be without Dallas Turner, Ivan Pace Jr, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson. The Ivan Pace Jr absense will be the toughest of these 4 players. Brian Flores will have a plan though, as the Vikings are actually second in the NFL after 2 weeks in sack rate per pass play. This will be another matchup that comes down to the final minutes. I predict a 27-20 victory for the Vikings to improve to 3-0 thanks to big games from Justin Jefferson, Aaron Jones, and the defense! Let's go, Vikings! Go get the WIN! SKOOLLLLLL!"

Thoughts on the Minnesota Vikings:

  • The Vikings defense is dictating what opposing offenses and QBs are able to do on each play. I predicted they would be a Top 7 defense this year... currently playing like a Top 3 defense.

  • Vikings picked off CJ Stroud on the first drive of the game and proceeded to score a TD. CJ Stroud had only thrown 5 interceptions in his career prior to this game. Vikings had 2 INTs.

  • Offense is absolutley cruising with Sam Darnold at the helm. He threw for 181 yards and 4 touchdowns, including 2 to Nailor, 1 to Jefferson, and 1 to Jones.

  • This is the best offense and QB play that the Vikings have had since the 2017 season. Possibly the best team we have had since 2009.

  • Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler have excelled in the run game and pass game. CJ Ham has been nothing short of brilliant in run and pass blocking situations. Seriously, go back through each game this season and focus on what CJ Ham does. It won't get mentioned but he is a BEAST FB.

  • Prior to this season, the Vikings hadn't beaten a team by 17+ points since Week 15 of 2019. They have now accomplished that in 2 of the first 3 games this year. Also boasting the 3rd highest score differential in the NFL at +55. I had been saying for the last 6 years that the Vikings would be better if they got rid of Cousins and replaced him with literally anyone else. Prior to how Sam Darnold has been playing this year, he qualified as a "literally anyone else" type of player.

  • Just like every team in the NFL, the Vikings are going to have bad plays and will lose some games...but this team is resilient and will always bounce back.

  • I know it has only been 3 weeks, but this is absolutely one of the best teams in the NFL. I could definitely see this team making the Super Bowl. This kind of early season success is not a fluke. I talked about it in my season preview that this Vikings team improved on Offense, Defense, Special Teams, and Coaching Staff. They're playing even better than I thought, and I had them going 11-5 and finishing 2nd in the NFC North.

Week 4 - Vikings @ Packers:

  • RIVALRY WEEK! The Vikings will travel to Lambeau Field to battle it out with the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings have been much more impressive this season, but the Packers come in with a 2-1 record after losing to a bad Eagles team and beating 2 bad team in the Colts and Titans. I honestly don't think it will matter who is playing QB for the Packers. Malik Willis has started the last 2 games while Jordan Love heals from a sprained MCL in Week 1. Neither QB will throw for over 200 yards, regardless, and neither of them are better than Brock Purdy or CJ Stroud. The Vikings will have to focus their effort against the strong running game of Josh Jacobs. If we can contain Jacobs, the Vikings will win fairly easily. I predict the Vikings to win 34-17 while holding the Packers under 200 passing yards, under 135 rushing yards, getting at least 3 sacks, and winning the turnover battle. I also predict Justin Jefferson to have 150+ receiving yards with at least 1 TD and Aaron Jones to have 160+ total yards and 2 total TDs.
