The Minnesota Vikings will travel to Soldier Field the face the depleted Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. Hoping to build off of last week's victory over the Steelers, the Vikings will need big game from Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, and KJ Osborn (#2 WR in place of the injured Adam Thielen). The Vikings absolutely have the firepower to beat Chicago twice this season, but I am worried about this one to say the least. It will be the second Primetime game in a row and this time it's on the road in a hostile environment.
The Bears will be missing quite a few starters due to injuries, but they want to see their rookie QB, Justin Fields, continue to improve, perform well, and win big games. The last 2 games the Bears offense has been playing better scoring 22 points against the Cardinals and 30 points against the Packers. With this being in Chicago, I think RB David Montgomery and QB Justin Fields have the potential to each have big games with the banged-up Vikings defense.
This game doesn't feel good going into the night. About 90% of "experts" are picking the Vikings to win and the Vikings are currently 6.5 point favorites. All seems a little overly aggressive considering the Vikings haven't performed well in the last 3+ seasons in Primetime game (I wonder why?!?! ;) LOL). With that being said, I think the Bears will win 28-23, the Vikings will miss 1 extra point sometime in the game, and the Vikings will be driving down at the end of the game but will fall short of a game-winning touchdown. I hope the Vikings win and prove me wrong! Go Vikings!
