Football is back! Our Minnesota Vikings will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, September 10th and I can't wait! The Vikings basically got rid of everyone over the age of 30 years old, except Harrison Smith and Cousins. They are building a much more youthful team with the hopes that in a few years everything can come together for a magical season. I don't think that will be this year, but you never know... maybe we will duplicate last year! :D
The Vikings offense will look pretty similar to last season. They replaced the aging Adam Thielen with first round pick, Jordan Addison. The running game will not have Dalvin Cook, but instead be by committee with Mattison, Chandler, and Gaskin. This offense should be a borderline top 10 offense again. Don't be fooled by the people that say we are a top 5 offense...no team with Cousins at QB is a top 5 offense ever. Those are just unrealistic expectations. I would expect the offense to move the ball fairly well against this Tampa defense, mainly through the air while mixing in some consistent runs from the 3 RBs. This Tampa defense is not bad though. They have a good DL in Vita Vea, a very good trio of LBs (White, David, and Barrett), and Minnesota Gopher's LEGEND Antoine Winfield Jr at Safety. The Vikings defense should also be improved, if not by coaching alone. DC Brian Flores is one of the best defensive minds in the game. The defense saw departures of old, slow players and replaced them with younger, faster players. Yes, the vikings defense will give up some big plays this season, but it is going to be WAY more aggressive. Expect a similar defense to the ones we saw under Zimmer, a lot more blitzes and confusion for opposing offenses. Tampa's offense will be able to move the ball, too. Baker Mayfield will be at QB with RB Rachaad White and WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. I don't think this game will be quite as easy as some people are saying, but the Vikings just need to find a way to start 1-0.
Both offenses will be able to move the ball at times throughout the game, but I predict the hometown Minnesota Vikings to come away with a 27-17 victory over the Buccaneers to start out 1-0 on the season! Are you ready for some football?! Let's goooooo! Let me know your thoughts and... NEVER EVER FORGET, HOW TRULY AMAZING YOU ARE! YOU ARE A WONDERFUL PERSON WHO INSPIRES THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU! Thanks for reading & Go Vikings!
