The Gophers offense continues to look more comfortable each week. Darius Taylor missed Week 1, had a solid first game in Week 2, and then broke out an 81-yard TD run against Nevada. Safe to say Darius Taylor is hitting his peak performance just in time for Iowa and the rest of Big Ten play! QB Max Brosmer is also looking much more confident slinging the ball around the field to his receivers. The Gophers defense has looked very solid again this season. They have forced back to back shutouts and are now only 1 of a handful of FBS teams to have not allowed a single passing TD this season. They have forced 8 turnovers this season (7th most in FBS this season) and 7 of them have been interceptions. The depth on the defensive side of the ball continues to be impressive.
Week 4 - Iowa @ Minnesota notes:
Minnesota CRUSHED Iowa 12-10 last year in Iowa City, securing the victory on a game sealing interception to end the game.
Minnesota has a much better offense than Iowa. Iowa has one of the worst offenses you'll ever see. The only offense Iowa really has is their RB Kaleb Johnson, but Minnesota's RB Darius Taylor is one of the best in the nation.
Minnesota has a much better defense than Iowa. We already touched on Minnesota's defense, but Iowa also has a solid defense that will be tough to score against.
I really hope PJ Fleck doesnt play down to Iowa's level again in this one, though I wouldn't be surprised. Just go out and beat Iowa 60-0...I would very much enjoy that.
I will be in attendence for this game and will cheer moderately throughout the game.
Prediction: I think Minnesota will play their game and beat Iowa 24-13. The Gophers will win the turnover battle and the fans will keep the energy the entire game. If the Gophers can get a 2-score lead in the 4th Quarter, the game will be over. Let's go, Gophers! Don't mess around with this crappy Iowa team and come away with the WIN and FLOYD!
