The Minnesota Gophers looked much better in Week 2, defeating an inferior Rhode Island team 48-0. The passing offense gained some much need confidence and Star RB Darius Taylor made his season debut after sitting out Week 1 due to a preseason injury. The Defense continues to be dominant like it has been for many years and is now only 1 of 20 teams in the FBS to have not allowed a passing TD this season.
Week 3, the Gophers will host the 1-2 Nevada Wolfpack in the final game before Big Ten play starts. This should be another dominant performance by the Gophers, but I am still not going to hold my breathe. We just never know what quirky in-game decisions PJ Fleck will make and we always have multiple games that we blow due to dumb decisions...we already have 1 of those this season. I will predict a 34-10 victory for the Gophers with the Offense having a nice, balanced attack, the Defense forcing multiple turnovers, and the kicking game performing flawlessly.
Let's not mess around this week and just get the W. 2-1 going into Big Ten play sounds good to me!
