It's always a great day when Minnesota teams are able to beat Wisconsin teams. The rivalry between the Vikings and Packers is no exception. It's now clear that the Packers SUCK! In my preview I had predicted a close game resulting in a 27-24 victory for the Vikings. It ended coming down to a game-winning field goal and a 34-31 victory for the Vikings! The Vikings have now fought their way back to 5-5 and Wisconsin cheese is still fricking disgusting. Here are some of the stats from Sunday's rivalry matchup:
QB Cousins: 341 yds & 3 TDs
QB Karen/Erin Rodgers: 385 yds, 4 TDs, & 1 stubbed toe
RB Dalvin Cook: 115 yds & 1 TD
WR Justin Jefferson: 172 yds & 2 TDs
WR Adam Thielen: 82 yds & 1 TD
The Vikings are back to .500 at 5-5 and 2-0 in the NFC North, with 7 games remaining and firmly in the Wild Card race. The Packers have dropped to 8-3, 2-1 in the NFC North, and have lost the 1st seed in the NFC playoff race. The Vikings, after dropping 2 games to fall to 3-5, have now won 2 games in a row and seem to be back on track and playing with more passion. This Sunday they will travel to San Francisco to play against the 49ers. SF is in a very similar position as the Vikings. They are both 5-5 and have both become teams that are starting to find their rhythms. If Minnesota can come out with a win on the road over the 49ers, the next few games can really be an opportunity to get on a roll against the Lions, Steelers, and Bears. Hopefully the Vikings can carry this momentum into the season's final stretch and turn this season into a magical one that the fans truly deserve!
